A Devastating Fire (Report Writing)

Monir, Rampur, 12 April, 2013 : A devastating fire broke out at midnight yesterday at Rampur under Homna Upazilla of Comilla District. It gutted 9 House completely.
The fire originated from electric short circuit in a shop. It swifity engulfed the adjoining 8 others shops. Hearing hue and cry of the people living near the spot, people from the whole village rushed to the spot with bucket, gunny sacks etc to put out the fire. But they failed to bring the fire under control. Later, fire brigade from Comilla came to the spot and succeeded in extinguishing the fire with the help of people. But by that time, all the nine shops burnt into ashes.
Some people were injured while trying to control the fire. Total loss of property and goods is estimated to be nearly two crores Taka.

Use in publication sector : In the publication sector of Bangladesh, the traditional type and block system has yielded to computer compose. Now all kinds of books, newspaper, journals etc, are being composed using computer. In fact, computer has brought about a revolutionary advancement in the publication sector of Bangladesh.
Use in education sector : In the recent years, the publishing of the results of different public examinations has been computerised. As a result, it has been possible for the concerned authority to publish accurate exam results in the shortest possible time.
Use in office activities : Almost all the private and govt. offices now-a-days use computers in their day to day activities. Computer has actually become a part and parcel of all kinds of office activities.
Conclusion : The use of computer in Bangladesh has increased so much that it is rather easier to say where it is not used. Science is meant for service of humanity and in fact, computer is the greatest contribution of science so far made. Seraj, Homna, Comilla 6 August, 2013 : The ongoing flood has devastated lives and properties at homna. About 80 percent area of the District has been follded. Loss of lives and properties are immeasurable.
Crops of about 12,000 hectares of land have been completely washed away. Loss of livestock is also tremendous. A little portion of men and animals has taken shelter in a few flood shelter and in some educational institutions. The greatest portion is left on the high roads under the open sky. Mass people are suffering seriously for want of food, drinking water and shelter. Relief from the govt is too little to meet the huge demand. Some wealthy persons and NGOs have come forward with their helping hands. Yet relief works are inadequate. The govt should provide the flood affected people with emergency relief. Already 11 persons are reported to be dead due to want of food and shelter. Lack sufficient flood relief may increase the death toll tremendously.

Neela was going to the basement cafe in her hotel to have breakfast. She didn't have a proper dinner the night before. She couldn't sleep well and got up early. She got into the lift and pressed the button that read B1. On the 14th floor a stranger got in. He was about 300 lbs and more than six feet tall. He looked like a giant. Neela felt that there was not enough room for her. She Was Scared. She hoped that he would get out soon. Her heart sank when the man pressed B1 too. Neela eyed the giant nervously.
Perspiration trickled down her forehead though the air-conditioner was working in the elevator. she felt weak at the knees. She looked at the man helplessly and though to herself, My goodness! Will I Be having breakfast at the same time as this man? The giant suddenly spoke, 'Hello! Going for breakfast?' 'Yes',Neela answered meekly. 'You are pretty early, ' the giant said. 'I thought I was the only early bird'. Neela was surprised to hear such a soft voice. She looked at him ...well he had soft eyes and she was no more afraid. Maybe he wasn't so frightening after all.

Lutfur is eight years old and lives in Dhaka. He Comes from Tongi. He has a brother who works as a tempo Helper. He came with his father, mother, brother and grand mother to Dhaka In Search of a Living. His Father Works as a Rickshaw-puller and mother as a domestic Worker. Lutfur collects Polythene bags, scrap paper and other Materials from Motijheel area and sells them at a Shop for TK. 5 to 10 a bag. He earns TK 20 to 50 a day, Which he gives to his Mother. Lutfur and his family live in a slum near Kamlapur Railway Station.
Their home is a Tiny Shelter With a Sheet of Polythene for a roof. They sleep on the dirty floor. Lutfor has bath in creak near their home. He Usually has his meals at home but sometimes begs for food at restaurants. Once he got diarrhea and had to stay at home for few days. He Could not afford to go to a doctor or buy Medicine for himself. He once went to a free school for about a year and now he wants to go back to school and start his studied again.

To Masum It Seemed Like a Permanent Fair. The Narrow Lanes Were Packed. The Entire Area Was Buzzing With Life. The Things That Attracted Masum's Attention Most Were The Wood Carvings as well as the beads and strings of Precious and Semi-Precious Stones. There Were Restaurants on Almost Every Rooftop. People Were Busy Looking, Buying Looking, Buying and eating. The Sights, Sounds and Smells Were almost Overwhelming. They Crossed Thamel and came to Durbar Square. The Temples There Date Back From 12th to The 19th Century. Masum, Becky and Neela Climbed The Steps of one of the towering Tejmples and sat on the stairs. From There They Watched The World Go By. They Spent More Than a Couple of Hours There And Three Young People Had Hardly Noticed It! They Enjoyed The Great Views Across The Square and The Roof Tops of The City.

In Mid-15th Century, a Muslim Colony was founded in the inhospitable mangrove forest of The Sundarbans neat the seacoast in Bagerhat District by a saint Ulgh Khan Jahan. He Was Earliest torchbearer of Islam In The South who laid the nucleus of an affluent city during the reign of Sultan Nasiruddin Mahmud Shah (1442-59), Then Known As 'Khalifatabad' (Present Bagerhat). Khan Jahan Adorned his city With Numerous Mosques, Tanks, Roads And Public Buildings. The Most Spectacular of Which Is The Imposing Multidomed Mosque In Bangladesh, Known as The Shat Gambuj Masjid. The Stately Fabric of The Mounment Stands On The Eastern Bank of a Vast Sweet-Water Tank, Clustered Around By The Heavy Foliage of a Low-lying Countryside Characteristic of a Seacoast Landscape.
The Mosque Is Roofed Over With 77 Squat Domes, Including 7 Chauchala or Four-Sided Domes In The Middle Row. The Vast Prayer Hall Is Provided With 11 Arched Doorways Aisles And I Deep Bays By a Forest of Slender Stones Columns. From These Columns Spring Eows of Endless Arches, Supporting the Domes. The Arches are six feet in thickness, have a slightly tapering hollow and round walls. The Interior Western Wall of The Mosque Is Beautifully Decorated With Terracotta Flowers And Foliage.
Besides Being Used as a Prayer Nail The Mosque Was Also Used As The Court of Khan Jahan Ali. Now It Is One of The Greatest Tourist Attractive And Best Architectural Beauties of Bangladesh.

Falsehood, Wrongdoing, Creating Indisipline, And Anarchy In Soicty And All Kinds of Deception Are Sins In The Eye of Islam. And The Glorious Month of Self-Judgement And Purification. Eid Is Also a Communion of Souls. It Is The Occasion For Thanksgiving To The Almighty Creator. Eid Is Certainly An Occasion For Joy By Pious Muslims Who Followed The Commandments of Allah During Holy Ramadan. Eid In Fact Awakens In Us The Spirit That Stimulates Us In Giving a Concrete Shape To Our Worldly And Spiritual Life. The Common Scene On Eid Day is Exchanging Greeting After Prayers, Visiting Family Members, Friends And Neighbours, Thus Muslims Resume Their Normal Life After Ramadan. They Become Enriched And Better Prepared To Work According To The Dictates of Islam. On This Occasion, We Should Pledge To Establish an Exploitation-free Society On The Basis of Religious Values, and That Is How We Should Observer Eid-ul-fitr.
